Joe Talancon is the chaplain at Safe Haven in downtown Sacramento. He works with the homeless. He understands them them and their struggles intimately as he has been homeless in the past. He’s not defined by his past, but it does give him an understanding of others.
His story is an example of how Christ changes and renews people. It’s a story of remotion and hope. From former drug addict and drug dealer to becoming a chaplain and a servant of Christ. Joe’s story shows how God can change anyone’s life.
Joe gives great insight on not only how to minister to the homeless but for other ministries to step beside ministries like his and touch the local communities that they live in.

Michael is a missionary in Northern Portugal with his wife and 5 kids. As he says on his blog “I’m just a normal guy.” He grew up in Alabama and at 18 went to the USMA at West Point to play football. After four years he graduated but do to a traumatic knee injury was unable to finish his military commitment. He served as a pastor in west Georgia before becoming a missionary.
Besides being a missionary in Portugal, he coaches American football in a country that plays football, or what we Americans call soccer.
His story is one that shows God uses normal people to do His work, you just have to be willing and available. Michael also shares his wisdom about how to serve on the mission field. If you’re considering foreign missions listen to Michael’s story today. I know you’ll be inspired and helped.

Chris Nicely is the pastor at Legacy Minded Church in Burbank California. He and his wife are church planters in a city of creativity and story telling, Burbank California, where thousands of movies are created every year.
Everyone thinks Hollywood when the movie industry is talked about but it’s Burbank where most of the work is done. Chris is also a father and shares how being a father has made him a better pastor. Chris talks about his journey not only to the L.A. area but how his church touches a city by, “telling the story of Jesus to a city that tells stories.”
He gives insight in how to touch this generation but also to young pastors and church planters. He also tells how to engage with mentors and be legacy minded in ministry. He draws of the wisdom of mentors and those who have walked before him. He has the heart of a shepard, and father and leads his church by serving those in it.

Anderson Campbell is the Assistant Professor of Christian Studies at George Fox University. He has an extensive ministry background from pastoring youth, to leading campus ministry.
